Remembrance: David Wood

A brief note of remembrance for my mentor and friend, David Wood, on what would have been his 82nd birthday. As a birthday is often a time to reflect upon life and reminisce about the past, and as my own birthday follows a scant two days later, the recollections of the 15 years we worked together and his immeasurable influence on my career are of course present, but most of all I remember his joie de vivre, the generosity of his spirit, and yes, his friendship. There are many photographs which are in my possession from those years, but the one photograph which I treasure above all is the one he shares with my not-quite-a-year-old firstborn son at his home in Sagaponack, NY, and how we shall always remember him best.

From The Archive: Memento

A memento from the past, an echo which originated somewhere on the Pennsylvania Turnpike circa 2002, to remember David Jaeger on his birthday. A cascade of memories, a reflection of over three decades as friends and associates, the first two decades with David Wood, followed by over a decade with Brandpersand. Sleep well, and know that you are missed.
